During the screening at ICM, the entries were rated according to 50% for song composition including content, arrangement and rhythm and the other 50% for interpretation or interpreter (appearance, style diction and impact).

Final judging will take place on July 22, coinciding the Bohol Day observance, at 8:00 in the evening at the Holy Name University Gymnasium, wherein judges will rate only the 45 % based on the performance of the interpreter, as the 50% for song composition was already determined by the music festival committee and the remaining 5% accounts for texters’ choice.

The grand prize winner will receive a cash prize of P25,000 and a trophy, plus a recording contract for the song interpreter. At stake for the first runner-up is P15,000 cash, plus a trophy and P10,000 and a trophy will be awarded to the second runner-up. Non-winning entries will be given P1,500 each as consolation prize.

27 ladies eye Miss Sandugo 2005 crown
July 3, 2005

They were all gorgeous, stunning and attractive. All 27 of them captivated the members of the Bohol Tri-Media Association (BTMA), including Loreto M. Palapos, BTMA president and executive director of the Bohol Sandugo Foundation, Inc. (BSFI), present during the press presentation last Sunday at the Bohol Tropics Resort.

The date is July 16, Saturday, 7:00 p.m. and the place is Bohol Wisdom School Gymnasium when these 27 ladies will show their bearing and their wits will be tested to prove to the judges who is deserving of the title Miss Bohol Sandugo 2005. The candidates representing the local government units are Jasmin T. Borja (Alburquerque), Ma. Christina A. Talili (Alicia), Laricel E. Ginete (Baclayon), Christy Amiely G. Garrote (Cortes), Sheena May C. Lague (Dauis), Ann Margarit Bersano (Guindulman), Juvie Pearl Cueva (Inabanga), Donna Blanca S. Abrea (Jagna), Jinderly S. Jipos (Loay), Jane Phoebe N. Suello (Loon), April Kristine P. Medequiso (Maribojoc), Ana Mariz A. Igpit (Panglao), Joan C. Bernaldez (Pilar), Tonivi Salazar (Sagbayan), Iris P. Valmores (Talibon), Isadora Maidee T. Gonzales (Trinidad) and April Lynn C. Recio (Tubigon).

Business establishments have also manifested full support by fielding in their candidates, namely: Jedelyn A. Boctoto (CVSCAFT System), Noemi A. Amante (Bohol Beach Club), Barbie Ann B. Vanta (F.S. Mining), Eula Dorothy Mercado (Herbert Malmis Hardware), Regine Codinera (Kalipayan Beach Resort), Grace Jumao-as (Miravilla Resort), Jessa Mae Rosal (Plaza Marcela), Guia Chua (Shoppers’ Mart), Loise Angelique M. Tan (Wrenley’s Appliance Plaza) and Imy T. Baja (YY Homebuilders).

This is the first time in many years since Palapos and Carmen C. Gatal, retired DILG provincial director, who composed the Miss Bohol Sandugo working committee at that time when Atty. Victor dela Serna was OIC-Governor and City Mayor Dan Neri Lim was OIC-Mayor gathered 54 beauties coming from different municipalities and agencies in the province to compete in the prestigious quest for Bohol’s ambassadress of goodwill.

Doy Aradaza, who is also the official choreographer of Miss Philippines, Miss Mandaue City, Miss Toledo City and Miss Pintados beauty tilts, is now on his second year of handling the over-all concept, choreography and direction of the Miss Bohol Sandugo.

What’s interesting about this year’s show is the launching of the official MBS theme song to be performed by the 27 ladies themselves in their production number. A feast for the eyes is the carnival costume parade to showcase the candidates in colorful and creatively designed outfits. As usual, the swimsuit competition will leave the audience at the edge of their seats when the candidates display their whistle-bait figures. In the evening gown competition, the ladies will give justice to the creations of Allan Plattring, one of Cebu’s most sought-after couturiers.

In the pageant and coronation night, the judges will rate the ladies on the basis of their wits and intelligence in answering the final question which is worth 50% of the total score, while the other 50% gives weight on the total performance and beauty of face and figure. For most part of the show, voice-over and audio-visual presentations (AVP) will be used. The emcee will only appear during the question and answer portion.

Miss Bohol Sandugo is presented by the Bohol Sandugo Foundation, Inc. (BSFI). Today, the candidates will have their location shooting at Bohol Tropics Resort. Talent show has been set on July 10, Sunday, 2:00 in the afternoon at the Island City Mall Activity Center. (Fiel Angeli E. Araoarao – Gabin, CIO)
