Panglao wins 4th
Streetdancing title

The Municipality of Panglao went home with their 4th Streetdancing
championship in 5 consecutive years. Panglao bested five other contingents from all over
the province to win a trophy and P100,000.00 cash prize, plus a giant grand slam trophy
for winning the contest 4 times. They also received a giant championship trophy courtesy
of President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo, who was the guest of honor and speaker during the
competition. The Panglao contingent was led by their town mayor Benedicto Alcala.
The contingent from the Municipality of Ubay won second place taking
home a trophy and P70,000.00 cash. The third spot again went to the Municipality of
Antequera for the 2nd consecutive time winning a trophy and P50,000.00 cash. The
contingents from the towns of Carmen and Trinidad, and from Manga High School, this city,
each got a trophy and consolation prize.
President Arroyo was in hand to deliver the Sandugo Message. Also present
were the members of her cabinet, high-ranking officials of national and regional offices,
the military and PNP. The activity was hosted by Secretary Mike Defensor and Sandugo
Foundation Executive Director Loy Palapos.
This year's theme is "Sandugo goes International." |
